It's Sunday night. Blah.
I have a list of...8 things that I was supposed to (try) to do today. Here's the list:
- clean laundry room
- vacuum
- clean tub
- bike ride
- make strawberry shortcake
- put together laundry room
- hang cd/mp3 player in kitchen
- clean out car - wash on Monday
How many do you think I've done today?
Try two. Yup. Two. I cleaned the tub (before I took a shower this morning) and took a 2 hour bike ride. Or so. I took a TON of pictures that I'm going to post probably tomorrow. We'll see. It was really cool (had to wear a jacket most of the time) and cloudy so it was perfect and nice. Jack went with me.
Jack? Who's Jack? Well, I will give you a little hint: Jack has a beard, loves to wear his red hat EVERYWHERE, and enjoys the outdoors. Tons. More on Jack later. (I will identify him). I know you are wondering about my guy friend.
Anyway, I did go by Andrea's and get my apron patterns. I have big plans for them in the next few weeks so I needed to pick them up. Andrea and Joe did a really good job redoing their bedroom. It looks fabulous. I can't wait until she puts her new comforter (wedding gift!) on the bed and gets some curtains hung.
I also went to the grocery store. I'm supposed to (in my own head) make a strawberry shortcake tonight as Ben's birthday was on the 13th (Sunday....also while I was in Missouri) but my head hurts. So, maybe tomorrow night.
Anywho, I did get a little bit done! Minus cleaning the house! Oops! Oh...and I cleaned up a bunch of cat puke (gross, I know). Apparently, both cats' favorite hobby in the spring time is blowing kitty chunks.
Speaking of Spring. I am totally in love with Spring! I forgot why it's my favorite season! It's so gorgeous. Here you are being COLD and such all winter...and now, it's all flowery outside and warm and pretty and it smells good and you get allergies but you get to wear your capris and tshirts without sweaters and flip flops and it's just nice. Sweet. I love it. There are flowers everywhere and flowering trees and birds and bugs (yuck). I love it. Today, while on my bike ride, I took TONS of pictures of all the ducks. Oh. And this is sad: there was a BABY DUCK (OMG! He was the cutest little thing EVER!!) only, he was in the canal right near where the overflow was and he was FIGHTING upstream trying to get away from the waterfall and he was just so confused! He had a crowd watching him and cheering him on! He just didn't know what to do...he was swimming as fast as he could and sometimes going side to side. His mother and father were nowhere in sight! Bad Mama! Bad Daddy! I hope he made it!! He was so cute!!
Minus the fact that I was terribly UNproductive today, I was super productive yesterday! First, I started the day by running by the rummage sale by my house. Then I went to the Flea Market where I bought a beautiful frame for $7 (as if I needed it...it needs to be LESS gold too) and a teacup for 50 cents that will match my jewelry box PERFECTLY. I originally wanted to find a teacup with birdies on it, but the teacup is a Japanese theme and will match the cherry blossom background of the box perfectly. Plus, it was 50 cents!
After the flea market, I drove into Philly and went to Fabric Row. It's 4 blocks of fabric stores. It was AWESOME. Although I didn't buy anything, now I know EXACTLY where I'm going to go to buy upholstery fabric for my little swivel chair. And trim, if I ever need trim for anything.
It cost me $15 to park so when I left, I did a good deed and gave an entering couple my parking ticket.
Then, because it's really close, I ventured to IKEA. I LOVE IKEA. I was there FOREVER. First, I ate lunch (hot dog, chips and sodie pop...I love their 50 cent hot dogs) Then I shopped and bought some stuff. Then I realized that I forgot to go to the showroom to look at a chair I was interested in and some shelf ideas for the laundry room, as it's SO disorganized compared to the rest of my place. I bought some wood shelves for $29.99 that I still have to put together. The good part about them is that I can paint or stain them (eventually). I also bought some wrapping paper to line the back of my shelves in the living room to add some more color, because you know, I don't have enough color in my place. Ha!
I am thinking about redoing all my shelves and making them more decorative instead of bookish. I'd like to add some funky curtains to them too to hide some stuff. That should be cute!
So after IKEA, (going into IKEA three times because 1) I left my list in the car and after I finished my lunch I had to go back and get it. 2) Took my stuff to the car after buying stuff. 3) To leave after buying shelves) I stopped by an outlet mall called Franklin Mills. I finally got to visit a Steve and Barry's. Everything was $8.98 or less. Crazy! I only got some SJP Bitten jewerly and a pair of shoes and some sunglasses (that I put in the trunk and didn't have on the sunny way home! Doh!). I went to H&M and got a couple of pairs of capris, a pair of pants I'm going to have to hem and a cute jacket in a khaki color (very useful). I love H&M. Then, I finally went home. I was EXHAUSTED, y'all. My legs were killing me!!
I drove through New Hope on my way home and everybody and their brother, and their brother thought that the place to be on Saturday was New Hope. It was packed! I saw about 200 motorcyles parked along the road, 3 dozen convertibles and about the same amount of classic cars...crazy!
I watched 28 Days Later last night. Hello. Gratuitous male nudity in the first 10 minutes. Wasn't expecting that! The main character is the same dude who is Batman's archnemisis in Batman Begins. He's so cute!! Although, now all I can think of is his skinny butt and not impressive penis. Sorry, but I didn't need to see full frontal. I love boys but they aren't very...pretty...to look at. I did think that the movie was really good though. I just love zombie movies. Especially zombie movies with hot boys (or Milla, of course).
Anyway, my inner thighs are killing me from yesterday's walking and today's bike riding. I love it! Work it, girl (me)!!
Oh gosh. I need to clean my house. Blah.
On Friday, I went to Anthropologie and picked up a book called 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. I love it! I went through it being the super dork that I am, marked all the books that I have read. I think it's like 100 books (um. I just counted. 55 books. That's it!)! Not many! Luckily, I already had one of the books on the list, Amsterdam by Ian McEwan, checked out so I finished it on Friday night (started in on the plane ride to Missouri until I got yucky). It was strange. Weird book. According to Christie, who has read several Ian McEwan books, says they are all kind of weird (author of Atonement). The big book of books claims there are like 8 McEwan books to read. I'm not sure how I feel about that but then again, there are like 3 Umberto Eco books on there and I still haven't gotten through one of those (although I own two of them). Whew. I'm going to have fun with this book!! Here's the list...
No shortcake tonight but I will probably will put the shelves together for the laundry room. I need to bring my sewing machine out tonight and get it setup down here. I have a lot of work to do this week!! More details after I finish the project. I guess that means I had better go and get things put up down here.
Ciao!!
Sehr gute Seite. Ich habe es zu den Favoriten.
